This certified 0.96 ct natural alexandrite from GIA is of Russian origin. Discovered in the Ural Mountains in the 1830s, this gemstone is renowned for its ability to change color, appearing green in daylight and red under incandescent light. Due to the depletion of the original mines, Russian alexandrite is now even more sought after and valuable than stones from other regions, such as Brazil or Sri Lanka.
